SEO Services Cost in Pakistan 2026: What You Really Pay
SEO services in Pakistan cost PKR 25,000–300,000 per month in 2026. Real agency pricing, what each tier buys you, the red flags to avoid, and how to buy well.

Two business owners in Lahore asked us the same question this month. The first — a restaurant owner — had a quote for PKR 15,000 a month. The second — a clinic chain — had one for PKR 180,000 a month. Both agencies promised "first page of Google." Both used the word "guaranteed."
That 12x gap, with identical promises, is the entire SEO pricing problem in Pakistan. It isn't that the market has no price. It's that the market has every price, and the number on the proposal tells you almost nothing about what you'll actually get. This guide fixes that: real 2026 price ranges from published Pakistani agency pricing, what each tier genuinely buys, the red flags we've seen burn founders, and how to buy SEO whether you're a local business in Karachi or a US founder outsourcing to Pakistan.
Short version, if you're in a hurry: a serious local campaign costs PKR 40,000–80,000 a month. A serious national one costs PKR 100,000–300,000 a month. Anything dramatically cheaper is a trap, and anything dramatically more expensive had better include content production and digital PR, not just "backlinks."
What SEO actually costs in Pakistan in 2026
Let's start with the numbers, because that's why you're here. We compiled pricing from several published Pakistani agency guides this year, and they converge more than you'd expect:
Those bands line up across sources. AJ Digital Agency lists basic SEO at Rs. 25,000–50,000, standard at Rs. 50,000–120,000, and advanced at Rs. 120,000–300,000+ per month (ajdigitalagency.com). NexPrime's 2026 guide puts small local businesses at PKR 40,000–80,000, competitive national campaigns at PKR 100,000–300,000, and enterprise at PKR 500,000+ (Medium). Media Initiation's price guide lands starter packages at PKR 25,000–40,000 and standard at PKR 50,000–80,000 (Medium). ICT Systems splits it as a Starter tier at PKR 60,000–100,000, a Growth tier at PKR 150,000–300,000, and Enterprise at PKR 450,000+ (ictsystems.com.pk).
Two honest caveats. First, "starter" at one agency is "standard" at another — the labels are marketing. Judge proposals by deliverables, not tier names. Second, these are list prices; negotiation is normal in this market, especially for annual contracts. But if a quote comes in at half the bottom of the band for the scope described, something is being cut, and it's usually the part that matters.

What each tier actually buys you
Price bands are only useful if you know what sits inside them. Here is what each tier typically delivers — and where the corners get cut.
Starter: PKR 25,000–50,000/month
This is a maintenance-grade package for a small local business with a simple website. You get a one-time technical audit, keyword research for 5–15 terms, on-page optimisation of your key pages, Google Search Console setup, and a monthly report. Link building, if it exists at this tier, is directory submissions and a few guest-post placements.
What it won't do: it won't win you a competitive keyword in Lahore or Karachi, and it won't produce content at any real volume. That's fine if you're a single-location service business whose competitors have barely done any SEO. It moves slowly — expect 4–6 months before the phone rings more.
Where corners get cut: the "audit" is an automated SEMrush PDF nobody reads, and the "link building" is a spreadsheet of low-quality directories. At this price the agency's margin only works if they touch your account for a couple of hours a month. Ask exactly how many hours, and what they do in them.
Standard: PKR 50,000–120,000/month
This is where most serious SMEs land, and it's the tier with the best value per rupee in the Pakistani market. You should be getting a proper technical audit with fixes actually implemented, full on-page optimisation, a content calendar with 2–4 published pieces a month, internal linking work, genuine outreach-based link building, and monthly reporting tied to agreed metrics.
This is the first tier where the agency has enough budget to think. A good standard retainer includes a strategist who looks at your Search Console data and changes the plan — not just a junior executing a checklist.
Where corners get cut: the content is AI-generated filler with no editorial review, and the "outreach" is paid placements on link farms. Ask to see a sample article and two example backlinks before you sign.
Advanced: PKR 120,000–300,000/month
Competitive verticals live here: real estate portals, private clinics, e-commerce stores, fintech. At this level you're buying volume and firepower — aggressive content production, technical SEO on large or complex sites, digital PR that earns real press mentions, and competitor analysis that actually shapes strategy. You'll usually get a dedicated account manager and quarterly strategy reviews.
This is also the tier where multi-location SEO and English-language content for international audiences get done properly — the kind of work a US-facing Pakistani business needs.
Where corners get cut: agencies sometimes sell advanced pricing with standard delivery — the same junior team, a nicer PDF report. The tell is in the reporting: if the monthly report doesn't show which content was published, which links were earned, and what changed in revenue or leads, you're overpaying.
Enterprise: PKR 500,000+/month
National banks, big e-commerce players, real estate developers. Full-scale data analysis, custom development support for technical SEO, high-end media outreach, and usually an embedded team rather than a shared account manager. If you're reading this guide, you probably don't need this tier — but it's worth knowing it exists so you can sanity-check quotes that approach it.
Why one quote is PKR 15,000 and another is PKR 180,000
Same promise, wildly different prices. Here's what actually drives the gap — and it's the checklist you should use to compare proposals line by line.
Your industry's competitiveness. Ranking a plumber in Multan is a different job from ranking a skincare brand nationally. The second one fights established e-commerce sites with full content teams; the first fights Facebook pages. More competition means more content, more links, more months before payoff.
Your website's starting condition. A brand-new site with thin pages needs everything built. A five-year-old site with decent authority needs refinement. The technical audit should quantify this — how many pages, what breaks, what it costs to fix. If a proposal skips the audit and jumps straight to "monthly backlinks," walk away.
Content volume and quality. This is the biggest cost driver most buyers miss. Two blog posts a month of genuinely useful, expert-reviewed content costs real money — writer, editor, subject-matter input. Ten AI-generated articles cost almost nothing, and perform accordingly. In 2026, content quality matters more than ever, for a reason we'll get to in the next section.
Link building method. There's a canyon between a PKR 3,000 paid placement on a link farm and a PKR 60,000 digital-PR campaign that earns a real newspaper mention. Both get reported as "backlinks acquired." Only one moves rankings safely.
Reporting and strategy time. The cheapest packages allocate almost no senior time. You're paying for execution by juniors following a template. That's not always wrong — but it's not strategy, and it won't adapt when Google changes something.
What the agency's own pipeline costs. Agencies in Karachi and Lahore with real teams have real payrolls. A freelancer working from home can charge half. Neither is automatically better, but a PKR 20,000/month quote from a ten-person agency should make you ask how they stay in business. The answer is usually: they don't spend time on your account.
The AI Overviews problem: what you're buying has changed
Here's the part most Pakistani SEO proposals haven't caught up with. In late August 2026, Google confirmed that AI Overviews can now expand automatically into longer, AI Mode-style answers — removing the manual "Show More" button for some queries — while its new generative interface begins rolling into AI Overviews as well (Raleigh News Now). The search results page is increasingly an AI answer with websites underneath it.
The numbers are stark. Industry research cited this month found Google AI Overviews cutting small-business clicks by more than half, with a 68% zero-click rate on affected queries; AI Overviews grew from around 7% of US queries in early 2025 to 48% by February 2026 (SIIT).
This changes what an SEO retainer should contain. Volume blogging — the thing cheap packages sell by the kilo — is exactly the content AI Overviews absorb and answer without a click. What still earns visibility is citable, fact-dense content: original data, precise answers, structured information an AI can extract and attribute. The discipline has a name now — optimising to be cited inside AI answers — and we wrote a full playbook for it because it deserves more than a section.
Our position is blunt: if an agency's 2026 proposal is still priced around raw blog-post volume and generic "backlinks per month," it's selling a 2022 playbook. The retainer is worth what it is only if it includes entity optimisation, structured data, and content built to be quoted. Ask the agency how they adapt to AI Overviews. If the answer is a blank stare, their price — whatever it is — is too high.
The cheap SEO trap: what PKR 10,000 a month really gets you
Every market has a floor, and in Pakistan it's the PKR 5,000–15,000/month "SEO package" advertised on Facebook and freelance marketplaces. Here's what that money actually buys, based on what we've seen when businesses come to us to clean up afterwards.

Automated everything. Content spun by tools, directory submissions by scripts, reports generated by software. Nobody with expertise looks at your site. NexPrime's guide warns these packages deliver automated content and spammy backlinks with no real strategy (Medium).
Link schemes. Private blog networks, paid link farms, comment spam. These can produce a brief ranking bump — which is exactly why the trap works — followed by a Google penalty. The last confirmed ranking update was the August 2026 spam update; spam-link tactics are precisely what it targeted.
Vanity reporting. Rankings for keywords nobody searches. Traffic from irrelevant countries. Screenshots of position #3 for a phrase with zero monthly searches. It looks like progress in a PDF and means nothing in revenue.
The recovery bill. This is the part nobody prices in. Cleaning up a penalised link profile — disavowing, rebuilding, waiting out the trust deficit — takes 6–12 months in our observed range and costs more than legitimate SEO would have from the start. The PKR 10,000/month package that "worked for three months" is the most expensive SEO you'll ever buy.
Red flags that should end a sales call immediately:
- "Guaranteed first page rankings" — Google explicitly says nobody can guarantee rankings. AJ Digital's guide flags this as the classic red flag (ajdigitalagency.com).
- No technical audit offered or performed before the proposal.
- They won't show you sample backlinks or sample content.
- The agency holds your domain, hosting, or analytics logins.
- Monthly reports with no connection to leads, calls, or revenue.
- Secret "proprietary methods" they can't explain. Real SEO is explainable.
Buying from the US: why American founders hire Pakistani agencies
Half our inquiries come from the US, so let's talk about the arbitrage directly. A competent US SEO agency charges $2,000–$8,000 a month for the same scope a strong Pakistani agency delivers at PKR 100,000–300,000 (roughly $350–$1,100). That's a 5–8x price difference for work that, at the top end of the Pakistani market, is genuinely comparable in quality.
The savings are real. The risks are also real, and American buyers get burned in predictable ways:
English quality. Your content will represent your brand to American customers. Plenty of Pakistani agencies write excellent English; plenty write English that reads translated. Before signing, read three of their published articles out loud. If any sentence makes you pause, your customers will notice too.
Market understanding. Ranking for "plumber Austin TX" requires understanding how Americans search, what a Google Business Profile looks like in the US, and what review platforms matter. Ask what US campaigns they've run and what the results were. Generic answers mean generic work.
Time zones and communication. The 10–12 hour gap with the US is manageable with async reporting and one overlapping call a week. It's unmanageable with an agency that only communicates on WhatsApp voice notes. Set the communication contract up front: a written monthly report, a shared dashboard, one scheduled call.
Payment and contracts. Use proper contracts and traceable payments. A monthly invoice, a defined scope, and an exit clause protect both sides. The agencies worth hiring will have done this before.
Our honest take: the best value in the global SEO market right now is a top-tier Pakistani agency working for US clients — Western-market competence at South Asian prices. But "top-tier" is doing a lot of work in that sentence. Vet like your revenue depends on it, because it does. And if you're comparing building in-house versus outsourcing, our cost breakdown for AI automation shows a similar make-vs-buy logic applies to marketing technology too.
What a sensible budget looks like, by business type
Forget tiers for a moment. Here's what we'd tell a friend to budget, based on what the work actually requires:
Two patterns to notice. First, the jump from local to national is the big one — local SEO is genuinely cheaper because the battlefield is smaller. Tashu Digital's breakdown puts local SEO at PKR 25,000–45,000/month against PKR 50,000–100,000 for national and PKR 80,000–150,000 for e-commerce (Medium). Second, content and links drive the bill everywhere. If your quote is high, check whether it's high because of real deliverables or high because of a brand name.
Also: SEO is not a one-month purchase. Every credible Pakistani pricing guide agrees on 3–6 month minimum terms, with full ROI typically visible at 9–12 months. Budget for a year of the retainer before you judge it. If you can't commit to at least six months, spend the money on a one-off technical audit and Google Ads instead — honest advice that no agency selling retainers will give you.
What about one-off SEO projects?
Not everything needs a retainer. Some SEO work is naturally project-shaped, and buying it that way is often smarter — especially if you're testing an agency before committing monthly.
Technical audits. A proper audit — crawl analysis, indexation review, Core Web Vitals, schema gaps, a prioritised fix list — typically costs PKR 50,000–150,000 as a one-off in Pakistan ($180–$540), more for large e-commerce sites. The audit should end with fixes you or your developer can implement, not a pitch deck for the retainer. If the auditor won't show you the raw findings, they didn't do the work.
Site migrations and redesigns. Moving domains, rebuilding on a new stack, or merging sites is where SEO gets destroyed silently — 301 mapping, URL structure, content parity. A migration SEO engagement runs PKR 100,000–300,000 depending on site size. This is the cheapest insurance in the industry: one botched migration can erase years of organic traffic in a week, and we've seen it happen to businesses that treated the redesign as a pure design project.
Penalty recovery. If you've already been through the cheap-SEO trap, recovery is a project before it's a retainer: backlink audit, disavow file, reconsideration or trust rebuilding, then a clean strategy. Budget PKR 150,000–400,000 for the recovery phase alone, and — our honest advice — don't hire the agency that caused the problem to fix it, no matter what discount they offer.
Content sprints. Need 20 service pages or a location-page rollout? A defined content project with briefs, writing, editing, and on-page optimisation typically runs PKR 8,000–25,000 per page for genuinely good work in Pakistan. Below PKR 5,000 a page you're getting filler; above PKR 30,000 you'd better be getting subject-matter expertise and original research.
The pattern: project pricing works when the scope is bounded and the deliverable is verifiable. You can see the audit, count the pages, check the redirect map. Monthly retainers are for the unbounded work — the compounding, adaptive part. Buy the project first, judge the quality with your own eyes, then decide on the retainer. It's the lowest-risk way to hire an SEO agency you'll ever find.
How we price SEO at our studio
Since we publish pricing guides, it's only fair to say where we sit. At AISquadX, our SEO engagements for small businesses typically run PKR 60,000–150,000 a month (roughly $220–$540), which puts us in the upper half of the standard tier. That covers a real technical audit with implemented fixes, a content calendar we actually write and edit, outreach-based link building, and monthly reporting tied to leads — not vanity rankings.
We're not the cheapest option in this market, deliberately. The PKR 25,000/month end of the market exists and some of it is honest work by solo freelancers. What we sell is the part that's hard to fake: strategy time from people who've watched Google change the rules for years, content an AI would actually cite, and the willingness to tell you when SEO isn't your best spend. You can see what we do across services — SEO sits alongside the web development and AI work, which matters because half of "SEO problems" turn out to be website problems.
What to demand before you sign anything
Use this as your checklist on every sales call. The good agencies will welcome it; the bad ones will rush you past it.
- A technical audit before the proposal. Not a free automated PDF — a real audit with findings specific to your site. ICT Systems' checklist puts "show me a case study in my industry" and "how do you handle algorithm updates" on the must-ask list (ictsystems.com.pk). We'd add: ask what the audit found, in plain language.
- Named deliverables per month. How many articles, who writes them, how many outreach emails, what kind of links. "Off-page SEO" is not a deliverable.
- Sample work. Two articles, two backlinks, one report from a current or past client (anonymised is fine). If everything is "confidential," assume it doesn't exist.
- Metrics tied to money. Rankings and traffic are intermediate metrics. The report should show leads, calls, or revenue — or at minimum, Search Console clicks on commercial pages.
- You own everything. Your domain, your hosting, your analytics, your Search Console. Put it in the contract.
- A sane contract. 3–6 months minimum is normal; 12 months locked-in with no performance clause is not. No guaranteed rankings, ever.
- An exit that works. Know what happens to the content and links if you leave. (Good news: earned links and published content stay yours. That's one genuine advantage of SEO over ads — you keep the asset.)
Frequently asked questions
How much do SEO services cost in Pakistan in 2026? Realistic pricing: PKR 25,000–50,000/month for a basic starter package, PKR 50,000–120,000/month for a standard retainer with content and link building, and PKR 120,000–300,000+/month for advanced campaigns in competitive industries. Enterprise and international SEO runs PKR 500,000+. Anything under PKR 20,000/month is almost always automated low-quality work that risks a Google penalty.
Is cheap SEO in Pakistan worth it? Usually not. Packages at PKR 5,000–15,000/month typically rely on automated content, spammy backlink networks, and template reports. In our studio's observed range, cleaning up after a penalty from cheap SEO takes 6–12 months and costs more than the original work would have. If your budget is tight, buy a one-off technical audit and fix the basics yourself rather than a cut-rate monthly retainer.
Should a US business hire a Pakistani SEO agency? It can be excellent value if you vet properly. A strong Pakistani agency charges roughly PKR 100,000–300,000/month ($350–$1,100) for work that costs $2,500–$8,000/month from a US agency. The trade-off: verify native-level English writing, understanding of your market's search behaviour, and transparent reporting. Ask for a trial month or a paid audit before committing.
How long before SEO shows results? Expect early movement at 3–4 months and meaningful revenue impact at 9–12 months for a competitive niche. New sites and highly competitive keywords take longer. Anyone promising page one in 30 days is either targeting a keyword nobody searches or using tactics that will burn you. This timeline holds in both Pakistan and the US.
Do AI Overviews change how much SEO should cost? They change what you're buying, not just the price. Since Google confirmed auto-expanding AI Overviews in late August 2026, informational content earns fewer clicks — so the value moved to citable, fact-dense content and entity optimisation. If an agency's proposal is still priced around raw blog-post volume in 2026, it's selling a 2022 playbook. Our detailed breakdown lives in our guide to SEO for AI search.
What should be in an SEO contract in Pakistan? A clear scope (keywords, pages, deliverables per month), a technical audit up front, monthly reporting against agreed metrics, no guaranteed rankings, a 3–6 month minimum term, and an exit clause. You should own your website, analytics, and Search Console access — never let an agency hold your logins hostage.
Local SEO vs national SEO: what does each cost? Local SEO in Pakistan typically runs PKR 25,000–60,000/month: Google Business Profile optimisation, local citations, reviews management, and a handful of location pages. National campaigns start around PKR 100,000/month and climb past PKR 300,000 for competitive verticals like real estate, clinics, or e-commerce, where content production and digital PR drive the bill.
The SEO market in Pakistan isn't expensive or cheap — it's unpriced, which is worse, because it lets bad sellers hide behind good numbers. Now you know the real bands, what fills them, and what the traps look like. Use that the next time two proposals land on your desk with identical promises and a 12x price gap. You'll know which questions end the call early.
If you'd rather skip the vetting process, talk to us. We'll tell you what your site actually needs, what it should cost, and — just as often — when SEO isn't the right spend at all.
